WORKWELL Audit Preparation

What is a WORKWELL Audit?

A WORKWELL Audit:

  1. An assessment tool used by the WSIB to review your occupational health and safety program. Policies, procedures, training and worker knowledge will be reviewed to ensure that your company meets the minimum standards under various legislation and regulations such as the WSIB Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  2. A review of your written safety program
  3. A review of your training documentation and an interview with workers to ensure that the training has been understood.
  4. A review of your accident and incident information and investigations following a reportable injury to ensure that there are processes for corrective measures to prevent injury.
  5. A review of your Modified duty program, WSIB reporting, roles and responsibilities.
  6. A review of your preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  7. A review of your preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  8. Is mandatory for those selected. A report will be sent to the Ministry of Labour will could result in a visit by the Ministry of Labour.
  9. You will be given 2 opportunities to pass a WORKWELL audit. Following this you can be subject to fines and increased premiums.
